Analysis, part 2 - Sleeve Cuffs

Also from about halfway through Deep Space Nine's first season forward, the sleeve cuffs appeared to standardize to about 2" (the same as the collar).

DS9, 1x11 "The Nagus"
DS9, 1x20
"In the Hands of the Prophets"
VOY, 1x1 "Caretaker"

DS9, 4x3 "The Visitor"

VOY, 6x10 "Pathfinder"
VOY, 7x4 "Repression"

Unlike the undershirt collars, which were almost universally snug around the actors' necks, the sleeve cuffs varied a bit more in tautness.

The Sisko's sleeve cuffs, for instance, tended to be rather snug around his wrists.

The EMH's sleeve cuffs weren't quite as tight as the Sisko's, but they still hugged his wrists somewhat:

DS9, 3x10 "Fascination"
Bashir's sleeve cuffs, however, were noticeably looser around his wrists:

VOY, 7x4 "Repression"
Tuvok's sleeve cuffs looked to be fairly loose, as well:

We're not sure if this was the norm for the character or not, but Tom Paris easily takes the cake for loosest undershirt sleeve cuffs:

VOY, 6x14 "Memorial"

So as you can see, a screen-accurate standard for sleeve cuff tautness is difficult to establish.

In our pattern, we have included sleeve cuffs that should be in the neighborhood of the Sisko's and the EMH's - that is, they should sit snugly but comfortably around the wrist with little to no excess stretched fabric around the circumference of the wrist.

Should you wish, however, to loosen or tighten your sleeve cuffs, it's extremely easy to do, and we'll show you how later in this tutorial!
